3 Ways to Prepare Your Yoga Studio for Furniture Removalists

Upgrading your yoga studio may mean moving to a larger building. This move means moving furniture and yoga studio items as well. One option that you can use is to use a furniture removalist to help. Before you simply hire furniture removalists and have them pack and move everything, there are a few steps you should take to prepare. Here are three ways to prepare your yoga studio for furniture removalists.

1. Cover the Floors

The first thing you need to do to prepare for the furniture removalists is to cover and prep the floors. The floors to your yoga studio are usually designed to be as comfortable as possible and suitable as possible for the forms of yoga you offer. This can mean that you spent a great deal on studio quality flooring. You can protect this flooring by laying out carpet runners wide enough and long enough for the removalists to use easily. Also, make sure that any furniture that is being removed has skid proof and scratch proof tabs on the base to prevent scratching the floors during the move. This step should be done on both the floors at your current studio and the one you will have the furniture delivered to.

2. Remove Mirrors

If you have clip mirrors, like some smaller studios do, then make sure to carefully unscrew the clips and remove the mirrors. This will help make it easier on the removalists to get in and move the large studio mirrors. Removing the clips and the taking down the mirrors yourself will also allow you to reduce the chances of damage to the walls or the mirrors themselves. You can also take an additional step and have a contractor use the clips from the old studio to help mark the placement of the mirrors on the new studio walls.

3. Prepare Public Equipment Only

If you have items in your yoga studio that belong to private therapists, yoga instructors, or meditation therapists have the private therapists handle their own items. There are several reasons for this. The main reason is to prevent damage and liability to the private therapist or instructors property. Try to stick to preparing public equipment and equipment you own only do reduce the chances of liability issues or missing private property.

These are only three of the ways you can prepare your yoga studio for furniture removalists. If you are ready to prepare for the removalists, ask the furniture removalists if there is anything they suggest. Also check to see if they have any special supplies that can help prepare both the studio you are leaving and the one you are moving to.
